Looking to live and work in the BC Interior while doing what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? Ecora is seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineering Technologist to join their expanding Geotechnical-Hydrotechnical (Geo-Hydro) team at our Penticton location on a permanent full-time basis.

Ecora’s Geotechnical Engineering Group has extensive experience in providing geotechnical services in support of linear infrastructure projects, dam engineering, oil & gas, commercial structures and residential subdivision construction. Ecora provides consulting services to a diversified range of clients including provincial government such as the BC Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation and BC Ministry of Forests, Lands & Natural Resource Operations, BC Hydro, municipalities, First Nation communities, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout British Columbia. Ecora’s Geotechnical Engineering Group is supported by a CCIL certified materials testing laboratory.


  • Conduct geotechnical/geophysical investigations, undertaking geotechnical construction reviews;
  • Assist in report and proposal preparation;
  • Geotechnical site investigations including drilling, test pitting and in-situ soil testing programs; and
  • Other duties as required.


  • Civil Engineering Technology diploma;
  • 2 years related work experience with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering;
  • Registered as an AScT or a GradTech with eligibility for registration as an AScT with ASTTBC;
  • Valid Drivers License and clean abstract, as travel throughout British Columbia may be required;
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, such as remote or isolated areas, working alone, in inclement weather with strict adherence to our safe work policies and procedures;
  • A strong desire to gain experience in the Geotechnical/Civil Industry, with a focus on infrastructure projects;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset;
  • Project Management experience
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and have exceptional organization and time management skills;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects; and
  • Work independently under minimal supervision or collaboratively as part of a team. Team members will be offered a variety of work and junior engineers are encouraged to interact with clients and manage projects under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers.
