THE OPPORTUNITY

Looking to do what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? We are looking for an Intermediate Civil Design and Drafting Technician to join our team at our either our Kelowna, Chilliwack or Surrey locations on a permanent full-time basis. Our preferred candidate will have a minimum of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with at least 5 years related work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and drafting support for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects including land development, municipal sector work including roads, water, sewer, storm systems, etc. utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D in projects from concept to completion;

Preparation of specifications and reports;

Engineering record drawing preparation; and

Daily reporting and participation in design meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and other related design software;

Understanding of civil engineering design including the ability to read and understand technical civil design drawings and specifications;

A strong desire to gain experience in the Civil and Geotechnical Industry, with a focus on infrastructure projects;

The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and have exceptional organization skills;

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;

Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills are critical, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills;

Willingness to travel to project sites, possibly including extended assignments as required;

Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record;

Legally eligible to work in Canada;

A safety-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic and desire to excel and achieve;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and

Ability to work independently under minimal supervision or collaboratively as part of a team.

NICE TO HAVES

Working experience in computer modeling of storm water, wastewater and water systems;

Experience with surveying, topographic and construction layout; and

Experience with materials testing.
